Privacy Policy

Screenshots you paste, capture, or open — and the annotations you add to them — are saved only on your own computer, in Knitch's application support folder. Each snap is an ordinary PNG file.

Nothing is uploaded anywhere, because Knitch has no network features at all. There is no server to send it to.

You control how long snaps are kept. The history view shows how much disk space they use and lets you delete any snap, delete all of them, or set an automatic limit by age or count.

Screen Recording. macOS requires this permission of any app that can capture the screen. Knitch uses it only when you start a capture yourself. Captured images go straight into the app on your Mac and nowhere else.

Files and folders, only when you explicitly open or save a file somewhere. Knitch never browses your disk on its own.

No account, no email address, no name. No analytics or telemetry. No crash reporting that includes your content. No advertising identifier. No usage statistics of any kind.

We could not tell you how many people use Knitch or what they annotate, because the app does not report it.

If a future version ever gains a feature that needs the network, this policy will be updated before that version ships and the change will be obvious in the app — not buried here.
